Video report - Paraitacene with Lost Battles

I've been experimenting with some video making software today and thought I'd use some photos from a Lost Battles game I did a while ago to put together a slightly tongue-in-cheek AAR as a wee tester.

You can see the results here...

What do you reckon?  Time to start concentrating more on my day job?

  1. Pretty good. Some of the pictures and text went by a little fast but I liked it over all. I did something similar and hope to improve upon mine in the future. I'd be interested in seeing more video reports.

  2. Thanks for your comments, Sean. This is really just practice for some stuff I need to do for work, so it's a bit hit-and-miss! Do you have a link to the one you did? I'd be keen to see what you've done if it's online somewhere.

    Cheers!

    1. Sorry, just saw your reply. My video batrep is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0_fM3bLpXI&feature=plcp

It's not great, the captions go by too fast. I also would prefer to not be using paper counters but I've been lazy painting and don't have the figures for the two armies.

This was made using Roxio cinemagic with my game photos and then adding in captions afterward with videowave, which is the roxio editing package.

  3. I found it played through fast as well. As a result I struggled to understand what was happening, at least compared to your other formats which are very clear.

  4. It did go a bit fast and so by the time I read the caption and looked over the video to see what it meant, it had changed to the next scene. But other than that, it was fine.

I have been tempted to try out a video for battle reports showing how rule mechanisms actually worked, but blogging it is faster as I would have to learn some video editing skills while I already know how to write!

  5. Well done! It was very easy to follow. Those elephants combined with cavalry sure are nasty, aren't they?

  7. Thanks guys! Good to get some feedback. I think I'm now getting a better idea of what works and what doesn't :)

    Cheers!
